On Sunday, the licensing service for the newly-appointed Rector took place in St. Andrew’s Church, Narberth.
The Rev. Martin Lloyd Cox will be Rector of the four churches in the Benefice - St. Andrew’s, Narberth, Church of the Holy Cross, Robeston Wathen, St. John the Baptist, Templeton, and St. Womar’s, Minwear.
Martin and his wife, Barbara, come to Narberth from St. Catherine’s Church, Gorseinon, and the licensing was attended by many visitors from both this church and from their previous living in Monkton.
The service was conducted by the Archdeacon of St. David’s, the Venerable Dennis Wight, assisted by the Area Dean, the Rev. Kingsley Taylor, and supported by other clergy members from this Diocese and the Diocese of Swansea and Brecon.
Members of the local community also welcomed Martin and Barbara to the town, including the Mayor of Narberth, the Roman Catholic priest, Father Liam Bradley, and Paul Dando, of the Grace Church.
A large congregation filled the church as witness to this memorable occasion in the life of the Benefice, enjoying after the service a sociable moment, with refreshments provided by the four churches.
