TENBY Museum and Art Gallery has recently had the good fortune of obtaining a new president following the resignation of Dr. Geraint Jenkins, who held the position for a number of years. Jamie Owen, better known as a BBC newscaster, radio broadcaster and presenter of such popular television programmes as Magic Harbours, has taken on the role, saying that it was "an honour" and that he had "no hesitation" in accepting the kind invitation. Jamie Owen has had a long association with Pembrokeshire - his father was born and brought up in Pembroke Dock and as a child Jamie would often holiday at Tenby with his grandparents. In the past, he has also supported the museum in other ways, officially opening the John Knapp- Fisher exhibition in 2003. He is set to repeat this later this month, officially opening the new joint exhibition of John Knapp-Fisher and Honor Brogan's work at the museum. This sales exhibition opens to the public on Friday, June 22 and runs until July.
