ACTING Inspector Steve Britton recently took command at Tenby Police Station. A native of Milford Haven, he spent the first six years of his police service in the Cardiff area before transferring to Dyfed Powys Police in 1996. He has worked at Cardigan, Milford Haven and Pembroke Dock.
He is married to Alison, a staff nurse at A & E Withybush and they have three sons.
A/Inspector Britton said: "I look forward to the challenge of developing policing issues in Tenby and the surrounding areas. I am particularly keen to utilise other agencies and adopt a problem solving approach to tackle crime and disorder issues.
"One of my first actions is to launch an Alcohol Harm Reduction Strategy to assist in achieving this objective. The strategy advocates a partnership approach with licensees and local authority representatives in tackling alcohol related crime and disorder, with a particular emphasis on under age drinking."
The former inspector Ewan Davies has been seconded to Divisional Headquarters at Haverfordwest, in order to plan for the policing of the Eisteddfod at St. Davids next summer.
