Residents and visitors to Carew will soon be able to travel to the picturesque village in safety. Work on a new shared-use path between the village and Carew Roundabout is due to start next month. The 300 metre, hard-standing route, which will cost an estimated £250,000, will be used by both pedestrians and cyclists. "We're really pleased that after a long campaign everything is now in place for work to start," said Clr. Rob Lewis, cabinet member for transportation. "The path is vital for the safety of residents of Carew and surrounding areas - as well as for the thousands of visitors the village welcomes every year." Carew County Councillor Dave Neale, said he was delighted to see the new path take shape. "It's not just important for the safety of walkers and cyclists travelling to Carew - but it's also the missing link that connects Carew to Milton and other villages in the area," he said. "We're very grateful to the land freeholders for agreeing to the necessary land transfer."
