PLANED, the Narberth-based rural development organisation, will once again be running its highly successful Tourism Business Development programme this autumn/winter. The programme, which is part funded by the EU European Regional Development Fund (Objective 1 and Interreg 3a) consists of a series of seminars and tours aimed at helping anyone already engaged in, or contemplating starting, a small tourism business. Sarah Worby, PLANED tourism co-ordinator, said: "The programme concentrates on providing practical assistance on ways in which small tourism businesses can meet emerging market needs and stay ahead of the competition. "This side of Christmas, seminars will be on 'Inclusivity' and opportunities presented by providing services and facilities for visitors of all abilities; developing and/or upgrading a guest house and developing a 'Sense of Place' in your tourism business. "Advice is provided by a range of agencies, professionals and local businesses, examples of which include the Wales Tourist Board, Jo Campbell and Pantmawr Farmhouse Cheeses." Anyone interested in participating in the programme should contact Sarah Diment at PLANED on (01834) 862107 or email [email protected]">[email protected]. There is a £30 registration fee, which entitles participants to attend up to six seminars/tours. Pembrokeshire Tourism Ltd., members can claim a £15 discount. Refreshments and transport included.
