Following international success with the first two books, local author Tony Riches has released the final book of the Tudor trilogy.
Based on actual events, Henry continues the story of Henry Tudor, born in Pembroke Castle, who against all the odds defeats Richard III at Bosworth and becomes an unlikely new King of England.
This new novel is the first to bring Henry’s achievements to life and explore his private life as he struggles to end the Wars of the Roses. Hoping to unite Lancaster and York through marriage to the beautiful Elizabeth of York, he learns to keep a fragile peace. He chooses a Spanish Princess, Catherine of Aragon, as a wife for his son Prince Arthur. His daughters will marry the King of Scotland and the son of the Emperor of Rome. It seems his prayers are answered, then disaster strikes and Henry must ensure the future of the Tudors.
Tony said: “I was also born in Pembroke so have always been fascinated by Henry Tudor. I look forward to the unveiling of the impressive new statue of Henry that will be unveiled on the bridge outside Pembroke Castle on June 10, a fitting tribute to this little understood king.”
The new book has already become a best-seller and is now being produced as an audiobook.
