More than 35 Pembrokeshire women who are keen to move their businesses forward attended the first meeting of the Pembrokeshire Women in Rural Enterprise (WiRE) Network to listen to inspiring presentations from Eric Sutherland, local business performance consultant, and Tessa Kirby, personal development coach and Innovative Business Woman of the Year 2008.

"WiRE is the only National UK organisation which promotes and supports women who want to set up, or already run a rural business," said Julia Horton-Powdrill, who co-ordinates the Pembrokeshire group with Rachel Eyles and Claire Carlile. "The local networks are run voluntarily by WIRE members who organise meetings where sustainable support, inspiration, knowledge and expertise are shared. This enables business generation and creates new opportunities."

The next Pembrokeshire WiRE network meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 18, at the Bridge Inn, Robeston Wathen.
