Two new zebra crossings in Narberth are due for completion in the next few days.
The scheme aims to address road safety at the junction by providing a safe pedestrian route linking High Street to both Moorfield Road and Northfield Road.
The crossing on High Street has been raised to introduce a form of traffic-calming that will reduce vehicle speed entering the bend into Spring Gardens.
The footway on the northern side of the junction leading into Northfield Road has been widened and extended to provide a continuous link accessible for all users.
The scheme is funded through the Welsh Government Road Safety grant initiative.
At a meeting of the town council on Tuesday night, Clr. Mrs. Rees asked for a letter of thanks to be sent to Pembrokeshire County Council.
“After 20 years of asking, we have finally got our crossing points,” she said.
“All we need now is a crossing point from Hill House Corner to No 47, so please can we ask for that to go on the list too.”
