After recently moving into its new home, Narberth Museum is looking for new volunteers to fill a variety of roles.

This unique opportunity will allow people of all ages and walks of life to extend their skills and widen their social circle.

Anyone who is interested is invited to an open evening on Thursday, October 11, at 7 pm.

Current volunteers will be on hand to share their experiences and provide an insight into the day to day running of the museum.

The volunteer experience will benefit students, young people, retirees and those looking to return to work.

A variety of training courses, including food hygiene and first aid, will be available, as well as meaningful work experience to add to CVs and university applications.

Available roles include customer service in the bookshop and coffee shop, research, administration, collection care and involvement in the museum's varied programme of events.

Pauline Griffiths, museum director, said: "Volunteers have always played a valuable role at Narberth Museum and after nine years of tireless fundraising, it's great for them to get more involved in the nitty gritty of museum work."

Everyone is welcome to come along to the open evening. Directions to the museum can be found on the website at http://www.narberthmuseum.co.uk">www.narberthmuseum.co.uk.
