New Mayor of Narberth is Clr. Ms. Suzanne Radford-Smith.
She was presented with the prestigious chain of office by outgoing Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Elizabeth Rogers, at Tuesday night's annual general meeting of Narberth Town Council.
Clr. Ms. Radford-Smith was proposed for the position by Clr. Eric Feetham, seconded by Clr. Ruth Platt, and unanimously agreed by all present.
Clr. Ms. Radford-Smith, who works as an admin assistant/duty officer at Bloomfield House Community Centre, previously donned the scarlet robes of office in 1998.
In handing over the reins, Clr. Mrs. Rogers said: "I wish Clr. Radford-Smith all the best in her forthcoming year and hope she has all the enjoyment Denise and I had. I speak for all the council to say we are here if you need anything.
"I would like to thank my fellow councillors for their support over the last year. I would also like to congratulate all county councillors and commiserate with those that did not get in."
Clr. Williams praised Clr. Mrs. Rogers, saying: "I would like to pay tribute to the outgoing Mayor for all her hard work and attendances at different places during the year. Your year in office was a resounding success. Well done and we wish Clr. Radford-Smith all the best for the coming year."
On behalf of Pembrokeshire County Council, Clr. Elwyn Morse congratulated Clr. Ms. Radford-Smith on her election to Mayor and Clr. Mrs. Rogers and her Mayoress, Clr. Mrs. Denise Rigby, for their successful year in office.
Another former Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Ruth Platt, was appointed Deputy Mayor. She was proposed by Clr. Colin Williams, seconded by Clr. Mrs. Sue Rees and unanimously approved by those attending the meeting.
