A new market set up stall in Tenby this week.

Organised by the town's chamber of trade and supported by Pembrokeshire County Council, the new market aims to showcase local arts and crafts - as well as some food producers - to residents and visitors.

The first market saw 10 stalls set up in the centre of the resort at Tudor Square on Wednesday (May 8).

Jenny Davies and Sue Roberts for the Chamber of Trade said it had been very successful with all the stall holders wanting to return in a fortnight's time on May 29.

"Several people coming to the market have expressed an interest in having a stall which, together with all those already booked, will mean another successful market," they said.

Clr. David Pugh, cabinet member for economy tourism and communities, said local markets were proving increasingly popular and helped add to the attraction of the county's towns.

"As well as promoting local arts and crafts, they're also good news for tourism," he said. "And they fit in with our street trading strategy."

The new market will be held every other Wednesday throughout the summer season until September.
