A new group has been officially set up in Saundersfoot to oversee organising events for the seaside village.
Meetings have been held at the Regency Hall venue in recent weeks, with the purpose to establish whether the community felt there was a need to form an events group, working collectively for the seaside village.
“The meeting was open to residents, businesses and organisations, for them to express their views and to see if there was a consensus of opinion on how this can move forward,” said county councillor for Saundersfoot’s south ward Cllr Chris Williams.
“It was great to see roughly 70 individuals turn up and ask questions on how this could potentially work for the village.”
Communications and media officer for the newly formed group, Andy Broomhall said: “We’re excited to share with you that the not-for-profit Saundersfoot Events Group CIC is now up and running.
“Branded as ‘Love Saundersfoot’, the Group is an evolution from the former Saundersfoot Chamber of Tourism and has a fresh new direction.
“Our focus is residents, visitors and event organisers alike. Our purpose is to liaise with other events groups to create and maintain a single, up to date calendar for all events in the village and to deliver fun and exciting events ourselves that typically fell to the old Chamber.”
Those forming the new team are as follows: Events liaison – Lesley Bartholomew; Events manager – Emma Price; Membership manager – Alex Rudman; Comms/website and social media – Andy Broomhall; Treasurer – Byron Lloyd; Secretary – Janet Milne; Chairman – James Bennet.
