ONE of Tenby's most prominent shops is temporarily closing its doors on Monday, February 25, to prepare for a brand new look to celebrate 25 years of selling ladieswear, men's wear and gifts. Jago opened its Tudor Square premises in 1983 and rapidly became a favourite with Tenby's fashion conscious shoppers. A mark of the success of the shop is that today's stock includes the sought after brands of Firetrap, French Connection, Full Circle and Pepe - such names will only supply to outlets that meet their exacting standards of quality and customer service. Kate Davies, owner and proprietor, explained what customers can expect when the doors reopen to reveal the makeover on March 8. "We stock some of best brands in the business, and our 25th anniversary is an opportunity to update the shop to reflect the fact that we sell the newest lines you can find on any UK high street. "The biggest differences will be on the ground floor. Literally, everything is being stripped out and replaced with a very clean, contemporary style - there will be a lighter and more relaxed atmosphere and shoppers will be able to move round more easily with plenty of room to get a better look at the clothes. "We have a band of very loyal local customers as well as many who regularly visit whilst on weekend breaks from Cardiff and Swansea, and we're really looking forward to welcoming them to what will be a brand new era for Jago." In the meantime, the existing stock needs to be cleared to make way for the shop fitters, so look out for some bargains between now and February 25. Brand new spring lines will be arriving in time for the March reopening.
