There are lots of weird theories about how the world will end... According to The Church of !BLAIR! "the human race will be terminated 14/9/2047, 3:28 AM. If humans don't discard their plastic conformity, the gods will withdraw their protection and Astro-Lemurs (extra-terrestrials similar in shape to lemurs, but with rainbow coloured bodies) will attack the entire human race and beat them to death with gigantic burritos!"! Now seriously, what does the Bible say, what do Christians believe; what do you think? Jesus illustrates the Kingdom of Heaven like 10 women invited to a wedding. Five are wisely prepared, bringing extra lamp oil so they can see the groom arrive. Five foolish women are unprepared; as they rush off to get more oil, they miss the party, get left outside where it's so dark the groom doesn't know them! So what is Jesus saying, and to whom? It's believed Jesus is telling the bride to be ready for the groom. Jesus is the groom, who is the bride? Well that would be The Church, the body of believers who follow Jesus. Who is getting left out? What are they getting ready for? Jesus' return! How do we get ready? By: believing, following and expecting Jesus. When will he be coming? No one but God knows (Mathew 24:36). It will be like a thief in the night! (1 Thessalonians 5:2). Paul wrote in a letter to the Thessalonian Church: 'I can tell you this directly from the Lord: we who are still living when the Lord returns will not rise to meet him ahead of those who are in their graves. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a mighty shout and with the soul-stirring cry of the archangel and the great trumpet-call of God. And the believers who are dead will be the first to rise to meet the Lord. Then we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with him forever'. Some Christians consider believers will be collected or 'raptured' into heaven before the events in the book of Revelation, the tribulation, Anti Christ and Beast forcing people to bear its mark so they can buy and sell, happen. People left behind can still choose to follow Jesus, until he returns for the final time, with the Church: 'The armies of Heaven, mounted on white horses and dressed in dazzling white linen, follow him (Jesus)' (Revelation 19) to defeat evil for good. Is this as far out as the Astro-Lemurs theory? What if it's true; and Jesus is coming back? You are invited. Don't get left behind! (The Word By Gary Emlyn _ written by Sharron Hardwick).
