Additional help has been forthcoming to assist Mike and Kath Breen, together with the sports club committee, from Haydn and Anthony Allen and Leighton Harries. The latter three members hope to take over from Mike and Kath in future and will incorporate tractors and motorbikes (courtesy of Glyn Garland), together with a longer Bulldog Mile Classic/Vintage Car run.
The new annual tractor road run and display will be commencing from the Kilgetty/Begelly Community Centre at 11 am, travelling through the countryside surrounding the villages. On completion, they will join the classic cars and motorbikes at Kingsmoor Sports field for the static display.
The Bulldog Run for classic/vintage cars and motorbikes, will leave the RAOB Club at 1 pm, and can either take the 'mile' route to the sports field or negotiate the new longer route entailing a 15.7-mile run around the local countryside before arriving at Kingsmoor Sports field.
Photographs of an estimated 150 vehicles will be taken, if requested, before leaving the respective starting points and 8x6 or 12x8 pictures will be available on completion of tour.
An exhibition by Pembrokeshire Scale Models will be on display in the community centre where a radio controlled yacht, tanks and trucks, together with dioramas displaying the Falklands and a bomber flying through the clouds will be shown.
On the sports field, a stationary engine (courtesy of Don Malin) and rally cars (courtesy of Station Garage, Kilgetty) will be on display and diggers (courtesy of Mason Bros) will be available to 'try your skills'. Children will be able to test their strength by pulling a tractor in a tug of war competition as well as enjoy themselves on the bouncy castle.
Sue Pike will be holding the second novelty dog show, sponsored by Arberth Vet Centre, where all dog owners are welcome to enter the various classes - have you got talent like Pudsey and Ashleigh?
Birds of prey and reptiles will be on display during the afternoon and will be available for family photographs.
A woodcarving display will take place during the afternoon by Begelly woodcarver Mr. Machin, from Begelly House Wood Studio, Begelly.
Pembroke Dock Silver Band will perform during the afternoon, whilst teas and home made cakes will be available at the famous community centre ladies tea tent. Anyone wanting a stronger drink will be welcome at the Sports Social Club bar, where mine hosts Brian and Louise will be happy to serve you.
Hamburgers and hot dogs, ice cream, auto jumble stalls, charity stalls, the WI human fruit machine, face painting, coconut shy, darts and Tenby Rugby Club's 'shooting machine' are some of the many amusements on display.
The evening's entertainment will be from Moo Juice, so if you've still got plenty of energy to spare, you can dance the night away!
