President Pat Davies welcomed members back after the summer break. Pat read a letter from Joan Rees thanking everyone for the letters, cards and gifts, and all were pleased to hear she was feeling much better. Members look forward to having Joan back in their meetings with them. Members were thanked for their contributions of Welsh cake dough mix, and items for the tombola stalls for the New Hedges Fun Night. It had been a good evening, with lovely weather, and a good sum had been made for hall funds. Will anyone who has still not paid for the trip to Swansea Grand, please get in touch with Eunice as soon as possible, as the seats need to be paid for. Also, anyone interested in going to the Recycling Centre, followed by lunch at Pembrokeshire College, on Wednesday, October 3, please ring Eunice immediately. Speaker for the evening was Mrs. Myfanwy Graf and her colleague Petra, who had both trained at Pembrokeshire College. Both gave demonstrations, Petra on reflexology, and Myfanwy on Indian head massage. Many members enjoyed the experience. A vote of thanks was given to the two ladies by Vena Davies. It was noted that the group meeting was on Monday, October 22, at the Regency Hal,l Saundersfoot, when Mr. Roger Jones would lead them in Country and Western dancing. The competition for an attractive hair slide or ornament was won by Pat, who was also lucky in winning the raffle. A very enjoyable evening ended with a cup of tea and a good chat - always enjoyable.
