'The Hedgehogs"' are back to full strength again (circa 34 members) now that the 'snowhogs' have returned from their long stay in Spain, and other members have come back from a bowling break in Torquay (and more about that in the next report).

They were all shivering and shaking as they tried to acclimatise to the somewhat cooler weather here, but since then have wondered why they bothered to go away with such a long spell of sunshine!

Those of us who remained, thought of them often as we grubbed about in the garden and started on our annual cleaning and clearing out - and came to bowls with bent backs and wobbly knees!

It was with pleasure that we welcomed back this year the new members who joined just before Christmas - Anne, Denny, Mike, Clive and Valerie, who are improving week by week, and it is heartening to see their enthusiasm for the game.

We are always happy to welcome anyone who would like to come along. As there will be four bowls sessions a week from May 2, you will have a choice as to which one, or how many, you wish to attend.

However, for the first visit, a Tuesday or a Friday evening would be the best time to come, arriving at, or just before, 7 pm. There is a selection of bowls to suit most hand sizes, but flat shoes or slippers must be worn (or put on an extra pair of socks!).

Please note: the club annual general meeting will be on May 13, so nominations for the committee should be sent to David White, 30 Lady Park, Tenby (842268).

All the Friendly League matches have now been played, but there will be the occasional friendly match to keep our hand in during the rest of the summer, and the sky blue sweaters with the hedgehog motif embroidered upon them will not be obligatory during these, but will probably be worn as we rather like them and wearing them encourages a team spirit. May we sweat our way to summer victories!
