THANKS to the generosity of the Close family, achievement in swimming at Tenby's Greenhill School will now be recognised every Prize Day with a splendid new perpetual silver cup.
Sisters and brother Penny, Jenny and Nick, some of the founding members of Tenby Dolphins, were actively involved in swimming while at Greenhill, representing the school, Dyfed and Wales, and agreed to donate the trophy in recognition of all the support they received from the school.
First recipient of the new cup is Year Nine student, Michael Nicholas, of Kilgetty.
A member of Tenby Dolphins, he was the only Year Nine student from the school to take part in the recent Urdd Swimming Championships and is also a member of the Welsh Talent ID squad at 200 metre medley.
