Opening tomorrow (Saturday) at Oriel Q, Narberth, is an exhibition of new paintings by Sarah Lees in the main gallery and in Oriel Fach paintings by Sian Jones.
Sarah is a tutor of art and design in West Wales School of Art having studied wildlife illustration over 20 years ago and then pursuing a career in graphics before moving back to Carmarthenshire in 1998. She graduated from the University of Wales Trinity Saint Davids in 2014 with a distinction in fine art and has since developed her own work alongside teaching.
Her early studies were preoccupied with technique as she worked with differing concentrations of paint to establish a language that clarified what she wanted to say about the subject of structure and form.
This collection of new paintings is a triumph in colour and beautifully executed compositions. It will lift your spirits and make you smile.
Another good reason to visit Oriel Q Gallery is to enjoy the paintings by Sian Jones in Oriel Fach. In contrast with Sarah’s colourful work, Sian has created lovely muted paintings.
