A new and very successful event was held at the East Williamston Community Hall last Saturday night.

Forty or more people came along to the inaugural Bingo Evening, a light hearted and enjoyable occasion for families with lots of children joining in.

Concentrating hard on numbers being called, competition was fierce for the chocolates for a ‘line’ or wine for a ‘house’ and there was much laughter and chatter!

With the bar open also it was an evening for everyone. The plan is to hold a Bingo Evening once a month on the forth Saturday of each month, starting on August 27.

Another new event will be the regular opening of the bar, just for getting together with friends, neighbours and visitors, on every Saturday during the school holidays.

Again, this is an occasion for all the family, with activities for children. The bar will be open from 7.30 pm and all are welcome. The regular family friendly quiz is held on the second Saturday of each month, so it's all go in the East Williamston community.

The object of all this activity is to raise additional funds for the Hall and to reach out to various areas in the locality, one of the largest in the County, which reaches as far as Kingsmoor Close, Pentlepoir, Cold Inn, Wooden and Moreton. Extra parking is now available.

If anyone in the area has ideas for events that could be organised please email the Hall at: [email protected] or check out the website at: https://www.ewcommunity.org/ for more information.
