Virgin Mobile has generously given Dyfed Powys Police 50 mobile phones. The phones will be made available to victims of domestic abuse to ensure they have access to the emergency services. The phones are being distributed throughout the Force area and a number will also be available for the newly-opened Sexual Assault Referral Centre in Carmarthen. A/Det.Inspector Shirley Davies said: "Dyfed Powys Police are constantly seeking new ways to improve the outcome for victims of domestic abuse and this simple initiative gives the Police another method to provide reassurance of personal safety. Lisa Cogdell-Brown, community officer at Virgin Mobile, said: "Virgin Mobile is pleased to be able to offer Dyfed Powys Police free mobile phones to support their valuable work with victims of domestic violence. It is an area that affects many people, from all walks of life, and this is a practical and straightforward way for Virgin Mobile to be involved and to help the local community."
