Pembroke has a new Deputy Mayor.

The appointment of Clr. Keith Nicholas comes following the resignation from the post of town and county councillor Pearl Llewellyn (Monkton).

Clr. Llewellyn told the council: "Having been a member of this town council for more than 16 years, it was with great pride that earlier this year I agreed to take up the honourable role as Deputy Mayor of Pembroke. However, it has been a very trying couple of years for me and my family and after many months of soul searching I have decided that I would like to tender my resignation."

Clr. Keith Nicholas was duly elected as Deputy Mayor and accepted the role, expressing his dedication to the town of Pembroke.

Clr. Llewellyn will remain a councillor for both the town and county council and was offered sincerest best wishes from her fellow councillors.
