Elwyn Albert Morse, an Independent candidate, has been elected to represent the Narberth Rural electoral division of Pembrokeshire County Council. Mr. Morse, of Ogmore House, Templeton, topped the poll in Thursday's by-election which was held due to the death in March of the sitting member, Clr. W. R. C. (Billy Davies). The result was: Elwyn Albert Morse - 282 votes; David Richard Bowen -157; Barbara Ann Priest - 102. The turn-out was 47 per cent.
