A FORMER Mayor of Pembroke has been elected to serve on Pembrokeshire County Council. Welsh Conservative Party Candidate Aden Brinn topped the poll for a new member to represent the Pembroke St. Michael Electoral Division, following the death of Liberal Democrat, John Allen. It was a close fought battle, with Mr. Brinn being elected with only a nine-vote majority. He polled 251 votes, ahead of Gareth Huw Jones, of the Welsh Liberal Democrats, who received 242. Third was David James Owen, Independent, who had 184 votes, while fourth with 142 was David William Edwards, of the Labour Party. I am delighted to have been chosen by the people of Pembroke St. Michael to represent them as I care passionately about the area and have lived there nearly all my life," said Mr. Brinn. "I would like to express my sincere thanks to all those who voted for me and I cannot wait to get started."
