The Cantabile Singers of Pembrokeshire is being formed in September and will be based in Haverfordwest. The choir will be female-voice and membership is open to all ladies from the age of 16 who enjoy singing chorally to a high standard. The ability to read music is desirable, but not essential.

The choir is being directed by Richard Stephens, who has conducted many massed choral events at St. Davids Hall, Brangwyn Hall and the Symphony Hall in Birmingham. He has also conducted choirs in Europe and other parts of the UK. He is past conductor of the South Wales Ladies Choir and founder of the Haverfordwest Ladies Choir and the Welsh Association of Ladies Choirs.

The choir is being formed to add a further dimension to the choral scene of Pembrokeshire by offering a county, female-voice choir which will perform music of all styles to a high competition standard, and also to participate in a massed concert in 2008 as well as other prestige concerts in the coming two years. This choir is not affiliated to any particular town.

So, if you enjoy singing and would like to sing to a standard, sing at fine venues then you are the person they are looking for.

The choir will meet each Wednesday evening 7.30 - 9.30 pm at Albany Chapel Hall, Hill Street, Haverfordwest. If you are interested, then please contact Richard Stephens in the first instance, tel. 01437 760269.
