Pembrokeshire Community Health Council (CHC), the patients' watchdog, has a new chairman. At the annual general meeting, Mr. Geoff Wright, of Druidston, was elected to succeed Barrie Woolmer, who stepped down to become vice-chairman, along with Mrs. Chris Roberts, a former nurse, also occupying the vice-chairman role. Mr. Wright paid tribute to the outgoing chairman and the great energy he had brought to the position. Indeed, he added later, an official at the All-Wales Conference of CHC's in Llandudno last week had described the Pembrokeshire organisation as 'a model CHC', a further accolade to the work of Mr. Woolmer, the retiring vice- chairman Sheila Russell, and the current chief officer, Ashley Warlow. "I feel privileged to take on this position," said Mr. Wright. "But position means nothing unless my colleagues on the CHC and myself are able both to effect and affect demonstrable benefits to the health services in this county."
