A new Business Support Grant scheme has been launched by Pembrokeshire County Council.
The authority has increased its level of financial support to 50 per cent towards project expenditure of up to £10,000.
The grants are available for both new business start-ups and established enterprises.
Clr. Brian Howells, cabinet member for small and medium enterprises, said the aim was to create and project employment in Pembrokeshire.
"This simplified and enhanced scheme is designed to make grant applications easier, with a higher percentage of contribution from Pembrokeshire County Council," he said.
"The grants will be available for the purchase of equipment and machinery, renovation and conversion of old buildings and new build.
"They will also be available for improvements in marketing on a project basis, market research and trade missions, web design and marketing of new products."
Applications can be considered from new business start-ups, existing businesses, sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, public limited companies and co-operatives in Pembrokeshire.
The scheme can consider joint support with the Welsh Assembly Government and/or the Welsh Development Agency for larger projects.
The number of jobs created to the level of grant requested will be critically analysed. Displacement will be assessed, as will economic benefits.
Applications will be reviewed by a grants officer with submission for consideration by the approval board or committee.
