There's plenty of food for thought in the Inner Wheel Club of Tenby's newly published cookery book - Friends for Dinner. Penned by retired successful restaurateur and member of the club, Marlene Green (nee Everest), the book features 30 delicious menus, each complete with starters, main courses and desserts. After enjoyable dinner parties hosted by Marlene, her fellow Inner Wheel friends encouraged her to write the book and share all her favourite recipes. "I always said I didn't have time to write a book," smiled Marlene, of Tenby, this week. "They eventually persuaded me and I said I'd do it as long as all the proceeds went to Cancer Research Wales." Priced £5, all proceeds from the book are going to Cancer Research Wales and it is hoped that in total £5,000 will be raised which will be used by the charity for research and therefore benefit people throughout Wales. The club, a member of District 15, is grateful to all the local businesses and friends who made donations to fund the printing of the book. Friends for Dinner, which is available from all Inner Wheel members and local outlets, will be officially launched at Lydstep Beach Village Country Club on Monday, June 30, at 6.30 pm.
