Author Fay Hewlett got the inspiration to write the children’s book, ‘Open and Magic Begins’ (published by Xlibris UK), through working with young people and the mischief they got up to. The book includes humorous fairy stories with a spiritual side. The stories are based on the characters and antics of real people.

‘Open and Magic Begins’ contains four short stories about the interaction of humans, faeries, pixies, gnomes and starpeople. Starpeople are incarnations from other planets. They have chosen to spend time on Earth to learn, teach and have adventures. Most of the characters and situations in these stories are based on real people and events and have been translated into faerie stories.

With old-fashioned watercolour illustrations and easy-to-read humorous stories, Hewlett invites readers to join the characters, go on through the faerie door and witness the interaction of fairies and humans.

About the Author

Fay Hewlett grew up in the Welsh mining village of Aberfan, but spent most of her adult life moving location and changing careers. A deep fascination with mermaids and fairies in her childhood stayed with her throughout her life, this combined with the accumulation of spiritual training in angelic reiki and kinesiology led her on a creative path of writing children’s stories. Working part-time in a café with young adults and observing customers has given her the material needed to write her book, ‘Open and Magic Begins’. She is now living back in Wales in Brecon Beacons National Park.
