Graffiti removal, litter picks, and spring planting - just some of the projects which took place in Pembrokeshire to mark Neighbourhoods in Action Week.

Organised by Safer Pembrokeshire, the aim of Neighbourhoods in Action is for residents to work with agencies to improve the quality of life in their communities.

Local projects took place throughout Pembrokeshire, as well as daily roadshows with information on many subjects, including burglary prevention, good neighbour schemes, fire safety, and dog chipping.

In Tenby, the multi-storey car park stairwell has been re-painted, while at Clunderwen, volunteers pressure-washed the village hall.

The grounds of the Anchorage Social Activity Centre at Pembroke Dock have been transformed following two days' work by several agencies. Volunteers cleared litter and replanted the sensory garden, thanks to support from Cosheston Garden Centre and the North Pembroke Residents Association.

The project comes after the Anchorage was vandalised by young people lighting fires in the grounds. The young people responsible have received input from Dyfed Powys Police officers and arson reduction officers from Mid and West Wales Fire Brigade.

At Pembroke, litter picks have been planned for The Green and Mill Pond areas, with school children from Golden Grove community school helping with replanting.

There have also been several activities at Pembrokeshire College, including vehicle exhaust noise testing, a driving simulator, and information on a bluetooth 'Dignity' campaign aimed at promoting safe use of alcohol and sexual health messages.

Education and enforcement programmes were focusing on topics such as truancy, noise pollution, parking and speed enforcement.
