A GROUP of Pembrokeshire County Council employees has been presented with National Examining Board for Supervision (NEBS) Management Certificates.
The 11 employees began the course in February this year and completed their final assessment in September.
The course is aimed at employees who are carrying out management roles or who may be aspiring to do so in the future.
The group was made up of managers or supervisors working at the first level of management and who wished to develop their supervisory knowledge and skills.
The course consisted of four main units:
• managing resources
• managing information
• managing people
• managing activities, which included topics such as computer skills, quality control, employee relations, change in organisation.
After each unit an assignment was completed. At the end, the candidates carried out a sizeable work-based project which brought together much of the knowledge and skills acquired during the course.
The programme was supported by the council's corporate training advisers, who worked hard to ensure that it was successful and rewarding for all concerned.
