The children and young people of Sunday Club at St. Mary's Church delighted the congregation with their talents recently.
The wonderful story of the birth of Jesus, over 2,000 years ago, was retold in words and music and the magic of the dramatisation of this miraculous event served as a fitting beginning to the greatest celebration of all times.
We are indebted to leader, Nan, for preparing the cast so expertly.
St. Mary's was magnificently adorned with floral arrangements, decorated trees and candles for the celebration of Christmas.
The clergy, congregation and visitors alike sincerely thank Rita Salisbury, Anne Buet and their helpers for their dedication and effort in transforming the church for this very special festival.
A further delight on the Sunday before Christmas was the presentation of £150, by members of Sunday Club, to John and Kit Davies, of the Harriet Davies Trust.
As always, those present were uplifted by the wonderful voices and music of the choir and their director, Dr. John Harrison, and his assistant, Judy Davies.
Following the service, many members of the benefice enjoyed a sumptuous and expertly served Christmas dinner, courtesy of the superb Soupermen team.
The logistics of this meal are indeed challenging and each year the dedicated team of men delight an extremely large number of church members with their culinary expertise. Sincere thanks are expressed to all of the gentlemen who worked so tirelessly to provide such a delicious meal.
