National Trust is looking for an activity provider to operate and deliver outdoor visitor experiences at Freshwater West’s Gupton Farm as work begins to create an exciting on-site activity base.

The project has received funding through the Welsh Government Rural Communities - Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government, and Cotswold Outdoor.

The activity base will be available to lease from the 2018 season onwards and will provide further visitor engagement, create employment opportunities and strengthen local connections with the farm.

The coastal site has undergone major restoration work in recent years and now comprises of farmhouse accommodation and a campsite, along with walking trails and a bird hide.

The activity lease, which will include the newly-renovated base and shipping container storage, is a unique opportunity to work with the conservation charity at one of Pembrokeshire’s most iconic locations.

Speaking about the venture, National Trust Pembrokeshire’s general manager, Mike Greenslade, said: “We’re open to activity ideas and would welcome proposals that are appropriate for the farmstead setting, inspired by natural resources and supportive of the local community.

“The Trust views this tenancy as an exciting long-term partnership that will enhance the offer at Gupton Farm and Freshwater West.”

A viewing day will take place at Gupton Farm on Thursday, November 30, between 11 am and 3 pm. If you would like to attend the viewing or express an interest in the opportunity, please complete the questionnaire which is available to download from: www.nationaltrust.org.uk/gupton-farm-activity-base
