A SWITCH of 'national' allegiance has brought a familiar face into the Ranger team of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Haydn Garlick, for many years the National Trust's North Pembrokeshire warden, has become the new Ranger South West. His new area is principally from Broad Haven in the west around the coast and Haven Waterway to Canaston Bridge and he will be working closely with the local communities. A member of a well-known South Pembrokeshire family, Haydn was brought up on the Stackpole Estate and now lives in St. Davids. Said Haydn: "It's been a long-time ambition of mine to work for the National Park and I am very excited about my new challenges. My Ranger role is changing and increasingly I will be working with the Haven communities as well as taking on more traditional tasks. I am especially looking forward to working closely with schools and groups from urban areas." With practical footpath and countryside tasks in mind, Haydn is looking to build up his pool of volunteers and anyone interested in getting involved can contact him at the Park Authority's Pembroke Dock headquarters on 0845 345 7275 or by e-mail: [email protected]">[email protected]
