The Ladies and Juniors National Autograss Championships, held recently at Lamphey, proved very successful for drivers from the Pembroke Haven and District (PHD Club), with Shelley Neale (Pembroke Dock), driving her Class 5 Vauxhall- powered Fiat, taking an impressive third place in Sunday's final. Also taking home a fine third place trophy in Class 7 was Hiefena James (St. Clears) in her twin Suzuki powered Saxo, and just missing out on a top four trophy position in Ladies Class 1 was Cosheston teenager Bobbie Neale, who finished in a fine fifth place in a class of over 50 competitors from all over England, Wales and Ireland. The Junior Special Class also brought success to the PHD Club, with young New Hedges racer, Jake Roberts, driving superbly all weekend in his Vauxhall-powered Special to finish fourth in his first National Final. The Junior Mini Class saw a massive entry of over 140 competitors from all parts of the country. There were many good performances from the PHD Juniors, with Pembroke Dock's Jamie Powell top qualifier being eliminated in the quarter-finals. The South Wales League is holding its last meeting of the season at Castle Lloyd Farm, Pendine, on Saturday and Sunday, September 22 and 23.
