Manorbier lost narrowly to Llechryd in Saturday's Division Three fixture. Played at Llechryd's pleasant ground, Manorbier were invited to bat. Opener Mike May looked in good form and scored a quick 16, before being one of Steve Curran's three victims.

Neil Powling held the innings together with a patient 32, supported by Jon Hughes and Phil Lawrence, but Manorbier's total of 94 was below par on an easy paced pitch.

Kevin Davies was the pick of Llechryd's bowlers picking off the tailenders with a return of 4 for 9.

Manorbier's bowlers defended their low total well, bowling a good line and length, but veteran Ray Hasler and Kevin Davies patiently accumulated reaching 55 for no wicket.

A well judged catch by young Gareth Lawrence in his debut match for the club turned the game on its head as Justin Evans (3 for 17) ably supported by Jon Hughes and Neil Powling, together with an impressive fielding performance got Manorbier back into the match.

Llechryd managed to edge past Manorbier's total with the two last batsman eeking out the winning runs in a tense and exciting finish.
