Pembrokeshire County Council are to investigate the introduction of new road safety measures outside Narberth CP School.
Following a meeting with town councillors on Friday, officers have agreed to look into drawing the attention of motorists to the two school crossing patrol officers who are on duty outside the school during the week.
The initiative, which has been known to prove effective elsewhere in Wales, involves laying down an area of red road surface with the appropriate warning signs both on the surface of the highway and alongside the road, a spokesman for the county council told the Observer following the meeting.
