NARBERTH U11s 15
PEM DOCK QUINS 5
On Sunday, Narberth Under 11s travelled to Pembroke Dock for a match played in atrocious conditions and which made running rugby almost impossible.
The first half was evenly balanced, with both sides working hard to move the ball.
Pembroke Dock opened the scoring with a try following a well-worked move on the left.
Narberth responded immediately and after a period of sustained pressure, in which Jason Adams was particularly prominent, their forwards broke through the Quins' defence. From the maul, Sion Morris was put over for an easy touchdown following a well-timed pass from Jason Adams.
The second half saw the Quins pile on the pressure, but determined tackling by the whole of the Narberth team, with James Lewis at scrum-half in devastating form, meant they were denied any further tries.
Late in the game, Narberth, having survived the Quins onslaught and with wind advantage, were able to put Sion Morris in for his second try, with captain Michael Jones adding a third almost on full-time.
