The people of Narberth are being urged to support the Save Withybush Action Team (SWAT) when they hold a rally and demonstration at the Welsh Assembly Government Offices in Cardiff later this month against plans to downgrade services at the hospital. The town council will consider sponsoring the cost of a coach to take local residents to the event on Tuesday, May 16, if sufficient people are interested in attending. Anyone interested in joining the group is asked to sign their name on a list at Williams Vision in High Street, before next Wednesday. Haverfordwest Town Council has already agreed to sponsor the cost of one coach, as members believe that the issue is of great importance, not only to the people of Haverfordwest, but to the whole county of Pembrokeshire. Silcox Coaches has agreed to provide as many coaches as are requested at cost only, i.e. fuel and driver for £200 each. Once the level of support is gauged, Narberth council will decide whether or not to sponsor the coach.
