FOCUS Wales is a brand new Music Festival and Conference, which will take place in Wrexham Town Centre over the weekend of April 19 20 and 21.

The weekend will see many music venues and spaces taken over for the festival and showcasing live music throughout the day and night.

The aim of the event is to provide a platform for music from Wales, regardless of language or genre. With over 70 live acts appearing across various venues, this year there's plenty to please all tastes.

Headlining the opening night will be Pembrokeshire singer songwriter Jodie Marie.

Brought up in Narberth on a diet of Bonnie Raitt and Elmore James via her Dad's record collection, Jodie Marie was discovered by Transgressive Management, when Toby L's father was on a trip back to his hometown in Wales. Speaking about his son's involvement in the music industry over breakfast, he was instructed by the landlady to check out the music of the local plumber's daughter.

Signed to the World Famous 'Decca' records' Verve imprint to relaunch the label, Jodie follows a strong lineage of artists - from Nina Simone and Billie Holliday to the Velvet Underground - and is set to transcend trends and convention with her debut LP, produced by Bernard Butler and Ed Harcourt.

Jodie's current single and on the Verve label, 'I Got You', is currently receiving massive exposure in the UK on the BBC Radio 2 playlist
