All organisations and clubs in Narberth are to be asked to dip into their pockets and help fund a fireworks display in the town as part of the celebrations to mark the Queen's Golden Jubilee.

At a meeting of the town council on Tuesday night, the question was raised as to whether a fireworks display was to be held as part of the festivities being organised by the newly-formed Jubilee Club.

While members agreed to book Chris Allen, of Westcoast Fireworks, to put on the pyrotechnic show, they recommended that the Jubilee Club ask all the town's groups and organisations to help support the fund set up to fund the fireworks, with the council making up any shortfall.

Members agreed, with the exception of Clr. Malcolm Connah, who voted against the proposal as he was concerned the council had not budgeted for such a project this year.
