The Observer has recently featured accounts and reminiscences of the bands who appeared in the Queen’s Hall in the 60s and 70s.

Narberth Museum has been very fortunate to receive some of the original contracts signed by the bands.

It has also received a fascinating and comprehensive collection of newspaper cuttings of the time detailing who was playing and when.

Prominent among the articles are the fears of the older generation that these concerts might have a degenerative effect on Narberth’s youth!

They will form the core of a new exhibition at the Museum called ‘Were you there’ which looks at what subsequently happened to the bands and also what sort of world Britain was at that time.

What were we wearing? Driving? How were we decorating our homes and what major events were happening?

The Museum is keen to collect any local photographs of the period and also to record the stories of those who were there.

The exhibition will run from Tuesday (June 4) to Tuesday, July 30 and admission is included in standard entry charges.
