U10s UNLUCKY

IN DEFEAT

Sunday saw Narberth U10s travel to Carmarthen Quins. With ground conditions sticky underfoot, Carmarthen opted for a forward orientated game, driving at Narberth continually and soon had a two-try advantage by half-time.

In the second half, Narberth upped the pace of their game, running the ball through the backs, and were desperately unlucky not to score on three or four occasions, being held up on the line each time.

Despite excellent tackling by the whole of the Narberth team, they were unable to stop the Quins driving through and scoring a further two tries, to run out 20-0 winners.

SOUND TEAMWORK SEALS U12s VICTORY

In a match played in conditions which favoured open rugby, the early exchanges between St. Davids and the young Otters were fairly even, with both sides eager to run the ball.

Narberth created forward supremacy towards the end of the first half, with flanker Ryan Holder and second row Aaron Keane each going over for a try.

The second half saw Narberth increase their all-round domination, with tries coming from inside centre Nick Bevan, scrum-half Rhydian Wyn and props Iorrie Salter and Deri Galvin. Aaron Keane (3) and Jamie Lewis (2) added the conversion points.

Facing a determined Narberth side, St. Davids were left with a consolation try and conversion scored late in the second half.

Commenting after the game, Narberth coach, Rob. Lewis said: "It was a sound all-round team performance which forms a platform upon which we can build, and go on to enjoy even greater success, particularly in the tournament competitions. "
