Narberth CP School recently travelled to Stradey Park, Llanelli, to take part in the National Finals of the Urdd Rugby Championships.

In their group matches, they defeated Y Wern 24-0, Llangybi 12-0, Evan James 7-0 and Dafydd Llwyd 31-0.

Try scorers in these group games were Dylan Davies, Karl Jones, William Boyde, Calum Phillips, Stanley Bellwood and Lewis Watling.

This meant that they had qualified for the final six where they were paired against Pontyberem and Bro Eirwg.

They first defeated Pontyberem 17-5, with tries from William Boyde (2) and Josh Helps and a conversion from Dylan Davies.

They then proceeded to beat Bro Eirwg 14-0, with tries from Dylan Davies and William Boyde and two conversions from Dylan Davies.

From an initial starting field of over 500 schools three months ago, Narberth CP School had now reached their second national rugby final of the year, this time playing against Llanishen.

In the final they then went one better and defeated the Cardiff side 14-0, with two tries from William Boyde and two conversions from Dylan Davies. It was yet another fantastic achievement by the team, who fully deserved their success in becoming champions of Wales!
