The junior swimming gala was held recently at Narberth Swimming Pool. Following very keen competition, the eventual winners were Blackbirds with 167 points. In second place were Sparrows and third were Magpies. Pictured with the Swimming Shield are Blackbirds House captains Bethan Howes and Liam Fenge and vice-captains Luke Howells and Lauren Jones.

OPEN AIR CONCERT AT THE CASTLE

As part of the 'Welsh Week Celebrations' organised by Menter Iaith, all the pupils attended an open air concert at Narberth Castle. A number of pupils participated by singing and reciting poems and they were joined by Carys Evans on the harp, Joy Cornock as a soloist and Rev. Huw George. It was a delightful picture to see a large number of children dressed in Welsh costume.

WRITING SQUAD

Four pupils from Class 5, Abby, Josie, Marcus and Jack, participated in a writing squad for Welsh learners which was held at the Queen's Hall. Thomas, Lottie, Rebecca and Bryony attended a writing squad session at Haverfordwest Library with wel-known author Mererid Hopwood. Both sessions were thoroughly enjoyed by all.

VISIT TO WELSH ASSEMBLY

All Year 6 pupils recently visited the Welsh Assembly at Cardiff Bay. A very informative discussion took place at the Pierhouse Building and this was followed by a tour of the new Senedd Building. They were also met there by Christine Gwyther AM and she answered a large number of questions put forward by the pupils.

HISTORY TRIPS

Visits have taken place for the junior pupils to Carew Castle, while the children in KS1 classes have visited Scolton Manor.
