Last Thursday saw the final eight players compete for the coveted title of Civic Week Pool champion at the RAOB in Narberth. In a strong line up, the first two matches up saw Mark George and Steve Owen (both of Whitland Dairies) lose out to Cliff Evans and Angelo Edwards. Although both winners don't play regular league, they both pulled off good wins by 2 frames to 1. Next up saw Aron Keane come from behind to beat another favourite Paul Rowlands, while Simon Beynon's night was shortlived against an in-form Will Vallance losing by 2-0. The semi-finals saw a 2-1 win for Aron over Cliff, while Will beat Angelo 2-0. The finalists Will and Aron (both of the RAOB A) entertained the crowd with a good match, with Will becoming the winner with the score of 2-1. Many thanks to Sylvia and the RAOB, and the Narberth Pool League for donating the eight trophies. Next year's entries will hopefully be up on this year, with all the matches taking place at the club over a period of five separate dates, with a possibility of some preliminary matches taking place at the Dragon and Dingle.
