Nearly nine hours of events, music, drama and re-enactments are being planned to celebrate the official opening of Narberth Castle on Saturday, June 25. A number of VIP guests from the world of Welsh entertainment, sport and politics will be visiting the historical site that day and joining in the celebrations. The official opening will be at 11 am, with the castle open to the public from 12.30 pm. There will be a parade from Market Square, with local people dressed in historical outfits, and there will be special prizes for all children who dress up for the event. In addition, members of Narberth Food Festival will be serving an array of treats, while Narberth CP School Choir will be performing. It has now also been decided to hold a People's Day at the castle every June starting next year. In the meantime, programmes detailing this year's celebrations will be available soon.
