The highly-anticipated Big Plant Sale returns on Saturday, April 30, for its 23rd birthday at the Town Moor, Narberth.

The Big Plant Sale is one of the most important dates on Pembrokeshire’s gardening calendar, and this year it’s 23-years-old! It’s been a much-loved part of the Narberth calendar for so long that spring in Pembrokeshire wouldn’t be the same without it!

The event raises funds for Span Arts, the Narberth-based charity committed to providing performances and arts experiences for people from all over Pembrokeshire.

It’s always been a cut above, whether you’re green-fingered or not. People come from all around to take advantage of West Wales’ finest plant-sellers and enjoy the expert horticultural talks, as well as the quality live music, local food and drink, sights, smells, and friendly atmosphere.

The Plant Sale hosts a huge range of far-flung growers with an impressive range of flowers, herbs and vegetable plants, as well as specialist stock including bamboos, pond plants, succulents and cacti.

The event has grown into so much more than just plants that it’s been described as “the start of the summer social season”; it’s a diverse and fun-packed day for the community, bringing people from all over the three counties to the idyllic Pembrokeshire town.

It’s a community event for all the family, featuring an acoustic stage, amazing local produce from barbecues and pizza to ice cream, and there’s entertainment for the kids in the form of a bouncy castle and face-painting!

Span Arts welcomes plant donations for their own stall and garden-related prizes for their Big Green Raffle, and the charity is always grateful for volunteers to help out with the Big Plant Sale at every level, and support the development of arts events and community outreach projects in the area.

Children’s entry is free, and entry for adults is a donation of £2, which goes directly into the running costs of the Plant Sale and to support Span Arts in their delivery of events, workshops and outreach projects for children and adults.
