The much awaited new season got underway last week and there were a couple of surprise results. Saundersfoot A's claimed a good scalp after beating the Station House A team, while Kilgetty RAOB A looked to be struggling against the Stanley B, at one point being 3-2 down, only to win the next four. The Temple Bar A managed a close win against a Cresselly side who have lost a few players, while there were wins for the Greenbridge A over Lawrenny, and the Jeff A at the Bush Robeston. Biggest win came at the Dragon, with the home team securing a very good 7-2 over the Hean.
The B League saw two good away wins for the Iron Duke at Whitland Dairies and Saundersfoot B at the Angel Llan, although the latter were a bit worried when they turned up at the venue and there was no table (wrong Angel)! Saundersfoot C team were hoping to make it a clean sweep for the club, but just lost out to the Eagle. The Wisemans Bridge did what they did quite a lot of last year, which was winning all the doubles to take the match, unlucky recipients this time being Temple Bar B. The Jeff B secured a last frame win against Kilgetty RAOB B, while the two biggest wins came at the Cross Clarbeston over KSSC, and a fine 8-1 from the young RAOB B team over the Bush Llan.
The C League saw a very good night for the Whitland teams, with the Bowls gaining a good 7-2 away win at the RFC, Station House B matched that score against Alpha B, as did the Taf away at Begelly Arms. Leading the field, though, are the White Horse B who registered an 8-1 at the Stanley A. The White Horse A scraped a 5-4 win over the Cross Broadmoor, while the Alpha B had to rely on their doubles playing against a resilient Greenbridge B. And finally the Dragon B did well to come away from the Sporting Chance with a good 6-3 win.
