The new Nantucket Room at the Quaker Meeting House in Milford Haven will be formally opened tomorrow (Saturday).
The opening ceremony will be followed at 3 pm by an Open Day, to which all are welcome.
During the following week, local Quakers will be hosting, with refreshments, various events at the meeting house - including a short taster Meeting for Worship and an exhibition incorporating a sale of books, Quaker tapestry items and Fairtrade goods.
The events are timed to coincide with a nationwide Quaker Week, which hopes to provide opportunities for people to find out more about Quaker faith and activity.
The new Nantucket Room is named after the American Island from which Quaker whaling families came to help establish the town of Milford Haven in 1792. The present Meeting House was constructed in 1811.
Quakers have been committed to peace, social justice and care for the environment for over 300 years and continue to show their faith through action.
Quakers meet every Sunday at Milford Haven and St. David's, and twice a month at Narberth. For further information contact: Jean Lewis 01646 636472 or Kay Allen 01646 651766.
